F.A.Q.'s

Q: We had our house treated for fleas, the directions said we should vacuum every day, why?

A: Vacuuming is a very important part of the process when treating fleas. It creates a vibration that causes the fleas to hatch faster allowing for a quicker reduction in their numbers. A general rule of thumb is to vacuum every day for 10-14 days after the treatment and always make sure you change the bag or dump the canister each time you vacuum.

Q: Do yellow bug lights really work?

A: Yes they do! They attract fewer bugs to your outdoor lighting, which in turn reduces the number of predator insects (and bats) that will be hanging around waiting for a quick meal.

Q: I have a newer home, but I have a terrible problem with mice. How are they getting in?

A: There are several different ways mice could be getting in. If you have vinyl siding you will want to close off the gap in your corner pieces. Carefully inspect each corner piece of your vinyl siding, you will find that they are hollow in the center. Place steel wool in the bottom of each one, pushing it up a couple of inches, then spray just enough expandable foam in there to hold the steel wool in place. Also, check around all your pipes (plumbing) and wiring to make sure these areas are sealed as well. Any space 1/4" or larger is perfect for a mouse to squeeze through, you can use a pencil as a gauge.

Q: I've heard that power washing my home can reduce the number of bugs I have, is this true?

A: Yes it is! Most insects use scent trails to help them locate different things they need ie; food, water, shelter. By power washing your house or building you remove those scent trails, just remember to do it before you have your house treated by your pest control company.

Q: Do I have to have my house treated on the inside and outside?

A: That depends on the situation. There are times when your pest control company needs access to the inside of your home either to do a treatment or an inspection. Most companies are willing to work with you to set up a time and day that works for everyone involved. Yes, I said time, there is no reason that you can't have a set time to have the service done on the inside of your home. Your time is valuable and we respect that.

Q: I have a cottage, do I have to be there every time the service is done?
